故障现象:
在bios中设置Fast Path Option设成Enable,Memory Hot Add Enable设成Enable之后,如果尝试添加内存,服务器会停止响应并且重启,在系统日志中会产生OS Watchdog timeout报错.
受影响的配置和Bios版本:
- The system may be any of the following IBM e(logo)servers:
an xSeries 445, Type 8870, any Model.
- The system is configured with the following option(s):
an IBM Remote Supervisor Adapter,
Option p/n09N7585, FRU p/n36L9912.
an IBM Remote Supervisor Adapter II-EXA,
Option p/n13N0382, FRU p/n73P9246.
- The BIOS level(s) affected is/are:
42B
解决方法:
-这个问题会在即将发布的bios中解决.
-预计发布的时间是:
2004年底3季度
-您可以访问下列链接下载最新的版本:
http://www.pc.ibm.com/support
在下一个bios版本中,会只有Fast Path Option设置或者Memory Hot Add设置,但不会同时出现.一个或其中另一个会变灰.
更新提示：建议使用当前最新版本的BIOS。
详细信息:
在bios中选择了Fast Path option不会使Memory Hot add 生效.
